The Rich Man and Lazarus

A Wealthy Man’s Lavish Lifestyle is Juxtaposed to the Poor Man Outside His Home

English Translation

The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16)

This is a parable that shows the punishment of those who rely on their riches and do not repent. The rich man received good things in his lifetime but was in agony after death. Lazarus received bad things, but was comforted.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal (Mt 6:20).
