The Feast

Two men–supposedly a master and his servant–having conversations in front of the wealthy one’s house; in the house there are tables of food.

English Translation

One. A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ “But they all alike began to make excuses. Then the owner of the house ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ The servant went out to invite those people, and they come immediately, because they were willing to come and liked to come. Remember, Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Mt 11:28

On the couplet, right to left: Everyone in the world is part of the family, all within the four seas are brothers.
